Morgenrot Raises JPY 1.1 Billion in Series B First Close
Morgenrot Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masamichi Nakamura; hereinafter “Morgenrot”), a provider of infrastructure solutions delivering computing power for the generative AI era, today announced that it has completed the first close of its Series B funding round, raising a total of JPY 1.1 billion. The round was underwritten by Japan Investment Adviser Co., Ltd. (JIA), MIRAIT ONE Corporation, and Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (J-POWER).

Background and Purpose of the Funding
As the adoption of generative AI and large-scale simulations accelerates across enterprises, demand for computing resources continues to grow rapidly. At the same time, advances in computing performance—particularly GPUs—and the increasing diversity and complexity of data center environments have heightened the need to optimize and efficiently manage computing resources.
Against this backdrop, demand for Morgenrot’s software solutions and engineering capabilities—designed to optimize and streamline computing resources—has steadily increased. As customer adoption expands, addressing newly emerging pain points across customers and markets by delivering additional technical value has become a top priority for Morgenrot’s continued business growth.

The funds raised will be primarily allocated to the following areas:

We decided to invest in Morgenrot based on its strong technological capabilities in providing a platform that optimizes GPU utilization in data centers. JIA has developed over 100 MW of solar power plants to date and currently operates approximately 70 MW across 25 locations nationwide. Together with Morgenrot, we aim to actively incorporate renewable energy into data centers—where power demand is expected to continue rising—balancing environmental impact reduction with economic efficiency to build competitive data center environments.

We were particularly drawn to Morgenrot’s technology for visualizing server power consumption on a per-job basis, as well as its product, MORGENROT Arthur. Through this investment, we will explore participation in data center businesses utilizing Morgenrot’s expertise and services, while also collaborating with our environmental value platform initiative to realize environmentally friendly green data centers together with Morgenrot.
